  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chopped or chips

Method
 

Baking Process
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt and brown the butter over medium heat, then let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, fine sea salt, and ground cinnamon (if using).
  4. In another bowl, mix the browned butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
  5. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in the semisweet chocolate.
  8. Scoop cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top (if desired).
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
