Main Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Extra virgin for best flavor
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar To balance acidity
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh basil Chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Sauce
  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, and basil.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil.
  7. Serve warm over pasta or use as desired.
