Marinate Chicken
- Place chicken pieces in a large bowl and cover with buttermilk. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Prepare Breading
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Coat Chicken
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
Heat Oil
- In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry Chicken
- Carefully add chicken pieces to the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain and Serve
- Remove chicken from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
