Ingredients
  

Apples
  • 4 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced
Sugar and Spices
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional
Butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Apples
  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
Cook the Apples
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice over the apples. Stir to combine.
  4. Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
Serve
  1. Remove from heat and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or over pancakes.
