  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese freshly shredded, from block

Method
 

Baking Process
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. To the center of the dry ingredients, add the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Whisk quickly, but do not over whisk. The batter will thicken quickly.
  5. Add in the shredded cheese. Mix or fold in the cheese with a rubber spatula for ease.
  6. Pour batter into a greased bread pan. Bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and allow the loaf to cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan and placing on a wire rack.
  8. Slice and serve with butter or chive cream cheese.
