Method
Prepare Jalapenos
- Wash the jalapenos and slice them into rings, removing seeds if desired for less heat.
Make the Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Cook Jalapenos
- Add the sliced jalapenos to the boiling syrup. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the jalapenos are tender and the syrup thickens.
Cool and Store
- Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer the jalapenos and syrup into a jar and refrigerate. They will continue to thicken as they cool.
