Ingredients
  

Jalapenos
  • 6 pieces fresh jalapenos sliced into rings
Sugar Mixture
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

Prepare Jalapenos
  1. Wash the jalapenos and slice them into rings, removing seeds if desired for less heat.
Make the Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Cook Jalapenos
  1. Add the sliced jalapenos to the boiling syrup. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the jalapenos are tender and the syrup thickens.
Cool and Store
  1. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer the jalapenos and syrup into a jar and refrigerate. They will continue to thicken as they cool.

Notes
