Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries washed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the blueberries evenly.
Make the Crumble Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the blueberry mixture into a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the blueberries. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blueberries are bubbling.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

This dessert can be made with frozen blueberries as well. Just increase the baking time by a few minutes.
